The most important step in understanding our unique model is that every blood bank in the United States charges hospitals fees for the blood products they provide; the national average is $283 for a whole blood donation (see pages 65-71 of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ 2011 National Blood Collection and Utilization Report HERE).  Blood for Missions donates any profits from these fees to support Christian and humanitarian nonprofits; because of our simple model combined with the current high cost of blood, we are also able to offer our blood products at a significant discount to hospitals.  For additional questions, see our Frequently Asked Questions page.
