Our Board of Directors
Matt Browning

Matt holds a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University and is the Associate Vice President for Internationalization at Azusa Pacific University. He has a relentless passion for the people in God’s world. He is committed to providing as many opportunities as possible to mobilize APU faculty, staff, and students to answer the call to reach all nations and people groups for Christ. His span of responsibility includes APU’s Center for Global Learning and Engagement, The Institute for Outreach Ministries, Mexico Outreach, Office of World Missions, and the International Center. Prior to Azusa Pacific University, Matt served as the Vice President for Student Programs at the English Language Institute China where he mobilized North Americans to serve as English teachers in Asia. Matt has traveled extensively around the world, spoken on many university and church campuses and been a part of key leadership areas both at APU and other organizations. He, his wife, and two daughters reside in Southern California.
Josiah Crum

Josiah grew up in Kenya where his parents have been missionaries with Christian Missionary Fellowship since 1988. He is a recent graduate from Azusa Pacific University where he studied Intercultural Christian Ministries. He is grateful for his role with BFM and excited to see the amazing ways God will use this organization for His Kingdom. He recently was married (!) and currently works at Hillside’s Home for Children.
Kierra Higgins

Kierra first went to Africa during her sophomore year of college and fell in love with the people and the continent. That experience led her to join the staff of Empowering Lives International, an agency committed to making a difference among the needy and spiritually lost in East Africa. As the Community Engagement Coordinator for ELI, Kierra works with over 50 churches and schools in Southern California. She has been a member of mission trips to Kenya, Tanzania, DR Congo, Thailand, Cambodia and Mexico. She is excited to be working with Blood for Missions and cannot wait to see where the Lord leads it!
Dan Jepson

Dan has worked in youth ministry for 7 years, most recently as the Pastor of High School Ministries at Life Bible Fellowship in Upland, CA. He has played in worship bands at over 20 churches in Southern California and loves to serve in any way that he can. Dan has been on mission trips to Japan, Thailand, Cambodia, Singapore, and Taiwan and yearly leads a team for Somebody Cares Baja. He has worked with YWAM bases in San Francisco, Tokyo and Cambodia. Prior to his time at LBF, Dan also worked for Alternate Avenues Women’s Resource Center in Upland. He believes that Blood for Missions has the potential to affect people in an amazing way and is thrilled to be a building block in the formation of this new organization.
Micah Mann

Micah Mann is a Christian passionate about missions and has served the Lord on every continent but Antarctica. He spent over two years working as a Donor Recruiter for the American Red Cross Blood Services of Southern California. He has organized over 350 blood drives collecting nearly 15,000 pints of blood that has touched up to 45,000 lives. Previous to the Red Cross, Micah worked at Hillview Acres Children’s Home in Chino, CA where he was a houseparent for abused and neglected boys. Micah is married to the lovely Ashley (Mulligan) and lives in La Verne, CA. He is now putting his heart and efforts into Blood for Missions by organizing the day to day operations. Lutz Mueller

Lutz is a mechanical engineer who works in Monrovia, CA. A graduate of UC Santa Barbara, Lutz embraces opportunities to engage in missions, especially with organizations as exceptional as Blood for Missions. He is married to Donna and lives in Pasadena. Lutz is looking forward to contributing in whatever way he can for Blood for Missions!
Kevin Reynolds

Husband to Jennifer, father to Ethan, McKenna, Seth, and Chase, Lead Pastor of The Flipside in Rancho Cucamonga, fan of life, and someone who feels incredibly indebted to the grace of God in his life. Kevin feels absolutely certain that Blood for Missions has a vast potential for kingdom impact and is grateful to have a front row seat to see what God is going to do through this innovative endeavor.
Katie Rystrom

Katie Rystrom hails from the great town of Chico, where she graduated in 2006 with a degree in International Relations from UC Davis. During her college years, the Lord broke her heart with the reality of world-wide poverty, specifically giving her a burden for Africa. Post graduation, Katie moved to Thailand to work with refugees, then traveled around the US with Invisible Children advocating on behalf of the children in Northern Uganda. Currently Katie works for Empowering Lives International, a non-profit organization that does development work in East Africa, where she coordinates and plans trips for teams and interns to Kenya. She loves being a part of what God is doing in Africa as He empowers and changes the lives of so many. Katie is excited for how God is going to move and work through Blood for Missions!
